EMDR + Somatic therapy for Manifesting

If you’ve done the mindset work—and are still stuck

What if you’re doing everything right—but it’s still not working?

Maybe you’ve been manifesting for a while.
You’ve been showing up, doing the affirmations, holding the vision.
You’ve put your heart into the process—with real desire for change.

Whether it’s success in your career, abundance in money, a fulfilling relationship, or a full life transformation… you’ve been doing the work.

And still—something isn’t shifting.
You’re stuck. Exhausted. Frustrated.
Maybe even at a breakdown point.

I’ve been there.
And I want to offer you something different.

Why mindset isn’t enough

Here’s the truth: for many of us, especially those with attachment trauma or deeper emotional wounds, affirmations and “frequency work” just don’t land.

It’s not because you’re doing it wrong.
It’s because your system doesn’t feel safe enough to receive.

Our thoughts aren’t created in a vacuum. They’re shaped by our experiences—and if those experiences were traumatic or neglectful, then just changing the thought doesn’t touch the depth of what’s driving it.

Unprocessed trauma sits in the nervous system.
Emotions like grief, fear, rage, and helplessness live not just in the mind, but in the body. In the muscles, the tissue, even the posture. What Wilhelm Reich called “body armor.”

And if we don’t address that?
We bounce back.
We say the affirmation—and feel worse.
Because the deeper wound hasn’t been witnessed, processed, or released.

A Whole-System Approach to Manifestation

This work integrates three key layers:

  • Belief Rewiring (Mind) – Using EMDR and other reprocessing techniques to release limiting beliefs at the root.

  • Emotional Processing (Heart) – Allowing stuck feelings to move through the system instead of being shut down or bypassed.

  • Body-Based Release (Somatic) – Working with Gestalt Therapy, breath, movement, and somatic presence to release stored tension and trauma.

Each layer supports the others.
Together, they create space for real change to take hold.

The Science Behind It

This approach is grounded in neuroscience and trauma-informed practice.

Neuroplasticity is your brain’s ability to change. Through EMDR, we reprocess traumatic memories and install new beliefs. This creates new synaptic pathways—networks in your brain that support feelings of worthiness, safety, and empowerment.

Neurogenesis is your brain’s ability to grow new neurons. This happens when we offer the brain new, safe experiences—especially in relationship. The coaching container itself becomes part of the healing process.

Polyvagal Theory tells us that unless your nervous system feels safe, expansion isn’t possible. That’s why working with the body is so essential. When you regulate your system, your body can shift from survival into creation.

Somatic work helps unlock the tension that EMDR alone may not release. Sometimes we need movement. Sometimes we need breath. Sometimes we need to feel where the emotion is stuck and let it rise, crest, and move through. I use Gestalt Therapy, breathwork, somatic experiencing amongst others.

This is how you raise your frequency—from the inside out.

Why affirmations can make you feel worse (and what to do about it)

If you’ve ever said a powerful affirmation—and then felt grief, anxiety, or self-doubt flooding in—please know that’s nota failure. That’s information.

It means your nervous system is responding to a conflict between the new belief and an old wound.
And when that wound isn’t met with care and healing, it can feel like bouncing back and forth between hope and shutdown.

This package helps you address the whole picture. So affirmations don’t feel like empty words—but real possibilities your system can actually believe and receive.

My Story: What finally worked for me

I felt my soul stirring — calling me to make a change.
After a period of grief, I was feeling bleak about the idea of doing the same-old, same-old for the next 20 years of my working life. Nothing was particularly wrong… but something inside me was restless. I needed change. I needed joy.

So, I relocated from London to Lisbon.
At the same time, I grew a human — and went from solo mum of one to solo mum of two little ones. I also began pivoting from working solely as a trauma-informed therapist to stepping more into the world of film, television, and the acting industry — a world that speaks to my soul.

I won’t lie: it’s had its challenges.
My soul knew this move would work out, but the rest of me had a lot of catching up to do. There was an almost constant feeling of anxiety and fear that I had made a big mistake and things weren’t going to work out. I feared ‘failing’ and having to go back to London and my old life. My soul-aligned plans and projects weren’t working out as quickly as I had hoped because I was still operating with negative beliefs and my body and nervous was holding onto old trauma.

Because my attachment trauma ran deep.
Beneath the surface, I held core beliefs about being unworthy, powerless — even that receiving support wasn’t safe. These weren’t conscious thoughts, but they were driving the bus. Sabotaging my efforts. Undermining my vision.

So I did the work.
I’ve spent a lot of time in the liminal space — between the old life dissolving and the new one taking root.

And I quickly realised that the usual manifestation advice — saying affirmations, visualising, “feeling the feelings” — just wasn’t enough. Still, I kept at it. Doggedly.

And I want to be clear: this approach can work — for some people.
Especially those fortunate enough not to carry trauma at the attachment level.

But for people like me — people with deeper wounds — we need more.
We have to go deeper.

That’s what I did.
And it’s that formula I now offer to you.

It’s not just about changing beliefs.
It’s about meeting the wounded child parts that feel unsafe, unworthy, or powerless — and doing the slow, beautiful work of helping them unburden. I had to connect with those parts, feel their rage and grief, and let them know: it’s different now. They’re not alone.

I used EMDR, bilateral tapping, and Gestalt techniques for working with parts.
But even that wasn’t always enough.

Old emotion can live in the body.
In the joints.
In the muscles.
In the breath.

So I began working with the body too — to help it release what it had held for so long.
Breathwork (I love the tools I’ve learned from Dan Brulé and others), yoga, and bioenergetics have all helped me access the deeper layers — the stored tension, the grief in the hips, the anger in the shoulders, the fear in the belly.

This is what I’ve come to believe is necessary for true transformation:
A complete mind–body–emotion approach.

It’s the only thing I’ve found that really allows your system — your body, your emotions, your nervous system — to catch up with the life your soul already knows you’re meant to lead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do this if I’m in therapy?
Yes, many people do. We can discuss how to make it complementary.

Is it online or in-person and is online effective?

It is online unless you are Lisbon-based in which case we can do in -person. Online is just as effective as in-person and I use a dedicated EMDR video call platform to that you can experience the bilateral stimulation (following a light bar across your computer screen or alternating sounds via your ear buds).

Will I have to move or lie down or cry?
You’ll always have choice. Some sessions may involve movement, breath, or emotion, but nothing is forced. We go at your pace.

Can this help with love, money, or career?
Absolutely. We’ll focus the work on your chosen manifestation goal.

Is this spiritual?
It’s grounded, somatic, and practical—but welcomes your spiritual beliefs, if they’re part of your path.
